No matter how often you play Standard Country Club’s beautifully sculpted, 18-hole par 72 golf course it never is boring. In 1996, 17 greens were rebuilt, and the course was converted to zoysia fairways. The addition of three lakes provides six holes in which water comes into play challenging golfers of all skill levels. Standard’s golf course has been rated as one of the Top Ten in the area by the USGA. In May of 2006, Standard was proud to host the Sectional Qualifier for the US Open.

Standard Country Club boasts one of the most energetic and exciting golf programs in the area thanks to Mike Riley, Standard’s Head PGA Professional, who was named Kentucky PGA Professional of the Year in 2005. Golfers can perfect their game in accuracy, distance and putting in the practice areas adjacent to the Pro Shop, or by taking lessons from our golf professionals.

The Men’s Handicap Trophy Fund (HTF) consists of a full schedule of tournaments culminating with a year-end Players’ Championship Tournament. Players’ qualification is based on participation points accumulated throughout the year.

“The Tradition,” Standard Country Club’s Men’s Member Guest Tournament, is one of the finest in the city. “The Tradition” allows our members to entertain their guests while enjoying the terrific golf course followed by fabulous food and drink. Monthly Guest Days are also offered.

Standard’s lady golfers are provided with the most inviting and enjoyable program in the area. Ladies Clinics, held weekly on Thursday evenings, are broken into a series of instruction programs for spring, summer, and fall. Ladies Thursday evening clinics provide the perfect opportunity for beginning or advanced golfers to enjoy a social evening of golf instruction. Ladies’ Guest Days are offered monthly.

Standard’s children experience a busy summer schedule with two Junior Golf Camps, Thursday Morning Golf Clinics, and Golf Play Days. Our youth golf program has been coordinated with the Youth Coordinator to provide a full day of fun at the Club.

Nine and Dine Couples play offers an evening of nine holes of golf followed by a social dining experience throughout the golfing season. Non-golfing partners are also invited to participate in these friendly scramble events which feature low stress play and social entertainment. Nine and Dine evening tournaments encourage members to meet other members to create ongoing friendships.

Standard’s Pro Shop offers a wide assortment of merchandise and equipment to enhance any golfing experience. Golf clothing and gift items are available with appeal for both golfers and non-golfers alike. The PGA Professional has years of expertise in assisting members in finding and fitting clubs best suited for them.
